CNC Milling Services | 3/4/5-Axis Precision Machining to ±0.01mm

Fusort Machinery's CNC milling centers produce complex prismatic components — housings, brackets, manifolds, and structural parts — with 3, 4, and 5-axis machining capability and tolerances held to ±0.01mm.

Industry Pain Points & Our Solution

Engineers designing complex, multi-featured parts face a recurring constraint: 3-axis machining cannot reach undercuts, compound angles, or contoured surfaces without multiple repositioning steps, each of which introduces cumulative tolerance error and adds cost.

Fusort Machinery's 5-axis simultaneous milling centers machine complex geometries — including compound angles and contoured surfaces — in a single setup, eliminating repositioning error and reducing cycle time compared to multi-step 3-axis processing.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: How do I know if I need 3-axis or 5-axis milling for my part?

A: 3-axis suits parts with simple flat faces and straightforward pockets. If your part has undercuts, compound angles, or contoured 3D surfaces — like impeller blades or deep mold cavities — 5-axis simultaneous milling is needed to machine those features in one setup without repositioning error.

Q: My part has thin walls — will it warp during milling?

A: Thin-walled geometries are prone to distortion from cutting force and heat. We control this through optimized fixture design, climb milling strategy, and staged roughing/finishing passes that minimize stress buildup before the final dimensional cut, keeping warping within tolerance.

Q: What's the largest part you can mill in a single setup?

A: Our work envelope handles parts up to 1,000mm x 600mm x 500mm. Larger parts may require sectional machining or assembly — send your drawing and we'll confirm feasibility during DFM review.

Q: Can you mill hardened or heat-treated metals?

A: Yes, within limits — we machine pre-hardened tool steels and select hardened alloys. Extremely high hardness above roughly 58 HRC may require grinding as a secondary step. Specify your material's hardness spec and we'll advise the best approach.

Q: What surface finish can I get straight off the mill, without polishing?

A: Standard as-machined finish is down to Ra 0.4μm, suitable for most functional and cosmetic applications without additional polishing. Tighter finishes are achievable with secondary surface treatment if your application requires it.
